Lianne's Big Trip To Florida - Places Been & Sights seen!

Lianne's Big Trip To Florida - Places Been & Sights seen!

The big day of my first educational for Toucan Travel has arrived - I boarded the  flight for Florida with Virgin Atlantic meeting the people I would be travelling with.

Adventures At Sea World

Got up and met everyone downstairs for 8am at the Rosen Centre in Café Gauguin for a buffet breakfast - Got myself an omelette! Here we met their lovely Sales Manager who took us on a tour of the Hotel. Also got to hear about Mr Rosen and how well he looks after his staff. Really liked the look of their swimming pool - fancied a dip but there wasn't time as we were then off to SeaWorld.

Had such a great time at SeaWorld - I have always loved visiting here and it has changed so much since my last trip. I really enjoyed feeding Stingrays, taking in a Dolphin and Sea Lion show - Always great family entertainment (Made me wish I had my boys with me as they would have loved every minute!) They also had 3 Rollercoasters and best of all a Water ride called Journey to Atlantis - I really enjoyed this and wished I could go on again!

Another new ride that is great for families was Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin (An interactive ride about the life of a Penguin) As soon as we got on we felt the cold of Arctic (Which was a welcome relief from the Florida Sun) It finishes off in the Penguin enclosure in the Park.

In the evening we headed out for a  meal at Fogo De Chao on International Drive before going out to sample the night life.

Discovery Cove - I faced off with a Shark!!!

Today we needed to be up out and ready for the day early as we are off to Discovery Cove - as today I get to swim with the lovely Natalie - a wonderful Bottle Nosed Dolphin! Got in the water and she swam up to meet us all. Enjoyed around a 30 minute session getting to choose between being pulled along by her as she glided through the water from either shallow or deep depending on how good a swimmer you are. Then we got to pose for some photos before having to say goodbye.

Next up was The Grand Reef swim which was amazing. Swam alongside Stingrays and other ocean life. I then got to have my very own Jaws moment when I came face to face with Sharks (Luckily there was glass in between us!) Another great thing about our day at Discovery Cove was that we had snacks and drinks available for the whole day and lunch served after 12 (Which is included as standard in the price of the ticket along with towels and snorkel gear!)

In the evening we returned to Sea World for a bite to eat before taking in a show or two. Starting off by seeing Shamu and then the Electric Ocean Show. The Electric Ocean Show was a fireworks and fountain display that I really enjoyed - The kids that were there were clearly loving it with a mini disco before the display started.

Busch Gardens - Giraffe Selfie Time!

Up early again (Another busy day ahead) I had breakfast in the Concierge Lounge before heading out for Busch Gardens. Before heading off on the Educational I did my research and was secretly hoping we would get to go on safari. Turns out it paid off as we got surprised on the day getting to do the Serengeti Safari. I got to feed the giraffes taking several selfies to show to my eldest son (He loves Giraffes) Our tour guide clearly enjoys his work - he was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the animals on the safari answering any questions put to him. Fantastic value being from just £27 to have this experience.

As much as I love the animals that was not all we got to do that day - It is home to some of Florida's best Rollercoasters such as Cheetah Hunt and Montu! Was such a hot day we got some light relief riding the Congo River Rapids and the Stanley Falls Flume getting soaked to cool off a bit!

In the evening we all headed out to International Driver for a meal

Aquatica

Off to Aquatica today - A Water Park with the newly opened Ray Rush (Up to 4 people in a raft launched by water jets into a colossal water sphere) was a lot of fun! Roas Rapids was also a favourite. Plenty of sun loungers to chill out on by the (2!) Wave Pools. You definitely need to remember to bring your own towel!

Later on we took a tour of the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel and got to eat at A Land Remembered (the hotels AAA four diamond restaurant) I had the best meal - fillet mignon with scallops on the side. Dessert couldn't have been better either - we were really spoilt here.

Shop Till You Drop & Home Time

This morning got packed and ready before heading to breakfast at the Rosen Plaza (Which is prime position on International Drive) with a tour of the grounds before being let loose with the credit card shopping at Premium Outlet and Florida Mall. Premium Outlet had plenty of shops to get lost in such as Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger with loads of fantastic discounts.

After loading myself down with gifts and some bits for me we headed back to the airport to begin the long journey home flying with Virgin again trying to sleep most of the way home after a tiring but brilliant couple of days!

**** I would like to thank Keeley from Do Something Different and Geoff at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment for a fantastic trip****
